Cosplay Spotlight: Carlettecore

Carlettecore is a cosplayer that I have gotten to know fairly recently that was more than kind enough to allow me to do a cosplay spotlight on their work. An incredibly nice individual, Carlettecore has been sewing since they were 10 and has always had a passion for fantasy, costumes and theater. The skill that goes into their cosplays was primarily self-taught to really master the tradecraft needed to recreate the elaborate outfits you see in the Fire Emblem series. They also apply the experiences they had going to school for textile design as well as art history.

They have a particular interest in Fire Emblem costumes because of their love of fantasy and sewing. By taking the time to find the perfect fabric for any costume they are able to tell a story with the creation process of each and every cosplay they do. They first cosplayed as Tiki from Shadow Dragon back in 2012 and has gone on to cosplay several other characters including Celica and Ninian the cosplay they have worn the most.

Their first Fire Emblem game was Blazing Blade which in the west is more known as just Fire Emblem since it was the first of thankfully many Fire Emblem games to make there way to the states. They love doing cosplays with their spouse, August, as the two bring there favorite characters to life and they have enjoyed making many friends in the cosplay community really embodying an iconic phrase often heard in Fire Emblem “Together We Ride.” They also wanted to acknowledge the hard work that not only the cosplayers do to make the costumes but the photographers that help to really capture that work in the best way possible, a skill that I’m hoping to one day master myself.

They are definitely someone I’d love to meet at a convention one day but their cosplay and convention plans changed drastically as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently they haven’t made or worn a Fire Emblem cosplay in some time but is steadily getting back into it so please join me as we encourage them as they return to a craft they have such love and dedication towards.

If you would like to see more of their work please give her a follow here.
