So on Mother’s day I did a post about amazing mothers so naturally I planned to do the same with the fathers. Now in this case, at least from my research, it seemed as though there were more characters to choose from. A lot of them weren’t the best or died very quickly but they were there. However, that fact made it difficult to find those who were great, but I managed to find a few good fathers featured throughout various franchises. Also note there will be some spoilers.
Mila’s Father

This character from Legend of Zelda: Windwaker is admittingly a terrible person. He’s rude, things way too highly of himself and flaunts his wealth all over the place. In spite of that he is still a very loving father. His daughter Milo was kidnapped and he used his entire fortune in order to give her back forcing him to live without his precious wealth. In spite of that he had no regrets as he was happier having his daughter back than his riches. The lost of his daughter may have even been the reason he was so difficult in the first place.
Norman

Norman is a gym leader in the Hoenn region of Pokemon. He is the father of the protagonist and to my knowledge the only father you have in any mainline Pokemon game. You battle Norman as the fourth gym in your quest to become the Pokemon Champion and while he holds nothing back he also provides a lot of support and admiration throughout the course of the battle. When you eventually defeat him, emphasis on eventually with his high defense Slakings, he is simply proud of you and eagerly awaits your future accomplishments.
Bowser

Ok so this might be a bit of a shocker seeing Mario’s greatest foe on this list but Bowser has had some winning dad moments with Bowser Jr. The moments that best come to mind are the ones in Super Mario: Sunshine. Sure both him and Bowser Jr. have the wrong idea and yet again kidnap Princess Peach; however, Bowser is at least very supportive of his son’s endeavors and when they lose to Mario he’s not taking his aggression out on his son but rather proud that Bowser Jr. wants to take on Mario again.
Rex and Shulk

Rex and Shulk from the Xenoblade Chronicles series are both parents to their own respective children in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed. The story does heavily indicates that Shulk had a child with Fiona and Rex had children with about every female character in Xenoblade Chronicles: 2. Some of these children show up in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 but due to the way the worlds of the first two games fused together they have no idea who their father’s are. In spite of that Rex and Shulk tirelessly fight to protect them and still find a way to be parents when their children need them. They train them, protect them from harm and even found a way to extend their lives well beyond the 10 years that most characters in the game have.
Chrom

So I guess this technically makes six dads since the last entry was two in one but I don’t think anyone is going to mind that. Chrom is the main character of Fire Emblem: Awakening and one of the few Fire Emblem dads to survive to the end of the game. Chrom is introduced to a future version of his daughter Lucina who came from a world devastated by the Fell Dragon Grima. Upon realizing he is starring at an older version of his daughter all Chrom can do is apologize for not being able to do more for her. Immediately caring for her feelings and wanting to protect her. So he then becomes a father figure to two versions of his daughter from two different timelines.
