Tell me if you’ve been asked this question before. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what is one thing you would take with you? My answer used to be something to get me off the island, but now that I’ve discovered a love for solitude, it has changed to a stable internet connection. Realistically, we wouldn’t get a chance to pick, and such is the case with today’s Vtuber Furbisms.
Our story starts in the outer reaches of space as Furbisms found themselves in a vessel barreling uncontrollably towards Earth. Crash landed on an uninhabited island, they examined the remains of their ship to find it was too damaged to get it working again. Stranded on an island far away from civilization, they at least managed to have the ability to tap into the internet. Using this reliable service, they learned all about Earth’s culture and its people. Now calling the island home, they spend their days hanging out and playing games. We might also be dealing with some tax dodging, but good luck ever finding them.
As for their content, you can find them doing a lot of Let’s Plays on YouTube. They pick titles that they have sentimental value for, obscure older games, and indie titles that catch their interest. They mix things up with both long-term Let’s Plays and mix in shorter one-off videos to show off games that might not work as well for a full play-through. One of the fun things they do is a series called Flashpoint Variety Hour, where they open up Flashpoint and play games that fit a specific theme. You can find all of their content either here on YouTube, or on their website, which they use as a hub for their Let’s Plays and many other things that catch their interest.
The website does a lot more than that, as you can check out their forum page, gallery, join their Discord server, and check all of their links, including Ko-fi, where you can further support their work. They have a lot of amazing content in the works, so make sure to give their Bluesky a follow so you don’t miss a thing.
