I’ve been wanting to try games that are different than what I normally play. To that end, I’ve been looking online for developers that are new to me to find that fun next experience I’ve been craving. That’s how I came across a game called Bandit Knight.
In Bandit Knight, you play the role of a thief, sneaking into locations to steal riches from the bad guys and not get caught. The gameplay is fun because you walk around taking any item you can get your hands on. Sneaking around so nobody catches you while jumping and rushing around obstacles. When you find those irresistible treasures locked in a glass case, you can throw a knife, break the glass, and leave before being seen. It’s a really fun play style that I really enjoyed.
What really sold me on the game was its presentation. It has a modern version of the old school RPG aesthetic that I love so much. They did not exaggerate when they say it is a vibrant 2.5D pixel art world. So visually, it captivated me from the start, and I like how it has a jovial vibe. For example, the first bad guy bribes his men with riches to ensure your capture, but does this by throwing a myriad of items all over the play. So while it’s a very serious situation, it’s clearly presented in a fun manner rather than a hyper serious one. I found this pretty amusing and enjoyable as I ran around collecting the items thrown about.
Bandit Knight appears to be one that can provide an incredible amount of fun. I like the gameplay and how it presents itself. It’s fun for anyone who likes stealth games and old-school RPGs. I’m adding this to my wishlist, as I really want to see what the full version of the game has to offer.
