The story of the Vtuber Nixie involves cats, goddesses, pharaohs and takes place in ancient Egypt. So you’ll want to stick around to see how this captivating tale is told.

Centuries ago in ancient Egypt we see a land full of people with love and admiration for their princess, Nixie. She was known for her kindness; however, her father the Pharaoh was known for his corruption. Their land regarded cats as sacred creatures of the goddess Bastet and he exploited this with a heavy tax for owning a cat, to satisfy his own greed.

Fearing Bastet’s wrath the Pharaoh cursed Nixie with a cat like form. She grew long ears and a tail to match to serve as an offering to Bastet in her image. The people saw Nixie’s new form and no longer saw her fit to rule. The once beloved princess became the target of laughter as she adopted feline mannerisms. As part of the curse she could never speak ill of her father. This angered Bastet even further, but there was nothing the goddess could do. The Pharoah was cunning and used a forbidden technique to seal Nixie’s soul inside an object.

As centuries passed the object transformed to blend in with the current era. It eventually became an NES game called “Nixie Himi and the Feline Curse.” The story of the game forced her to relive her father’s betrayal over and over again while portraying her as a happy-go-lucky anime style protagonist. A cursed “Hime” tattoo appeared on her body and became a mark of shame that served as a reminder of everything that was taken from her. A mark inspired by the art style of the game and is the Japanese word for “princess.” The moniker she lost all those years ago.

The modern world is full of clever people though and one day the game resurfaced as a ROM playable on computers. A player decided to hack the game which affected Nixie’s curse. It gave her an opening to escape the game and roam the internet. Not wanting to be lost to time she became Nixie Hime, a Vtuber, and used her content to connect to fans all over the world while preaching the values of love, peace and kindness. The same values held dear by the Goddess Bastet.

As her fame grew her tattoo began to glow. Bastet’s blessing manifested and Nixie transformed into her true self. She became cat like in a form modeled after the goddess herself. Bastet gave Nixie her freedom back and she took her place as Bastet’s chosen one leading her group of Bastet’s Besties on a journey of love, laughs and harmony.
