Vtuber Spotlight: Shira_Jelly

Our ever continuing series takes us back to the seas as we talk about a vtuber inspired by a creature that has not appeared in this series. After searching far and wide we get to talk about our first jellyfish vtuber. So take a seat, grab a drink and read all about the story of Shira_Jelly.

Like many creators, Shira_Jelly doesn’t have a lore dedicated to her Vtuber. Instead she opted to use her vtuber model as more of an extension of herself and as a medium for content creation. So we’ll explore how she made the journey to the creator life. This story starts during the covid pandemic. Shira_Jelly saw the models of all other creators and was inspired to make her own. Her original model was a mermaid, but over time she realized that didn’t quite suit her. After experimenting with sea creature themes she found a love for the elegant movements the jellyfish have as they swim across the sea and that became the inspiration for her current model. Content creation and vtubing became a beloved hobby of hers as it was a nice distraction from the harsh world and created a much needed comfort zone for herself and others.

As for her name that was inspired first by her original name shiraleinchen. However, that ended up being too long and hard for people to spell so it was changed to Shira_Jelly to make that easier. As someone who often uses a second screen as a cheat sheet for spelling, Shira_Jelly was quite a bit easier. Though the leinchen part of the original name has a fun origin. It’s actually a diminutive of her nickname as Germans use words like that to describe something cute.

Like many great vtubers she also has a mascot, a Shark called Gunther. It’s used to represent her chat and the fans that tune in but she plans to change that as she sees her myriad of viewers as her cute little jellyfish and together they form a supportive community of little jellybeans. She strives to create a safe space for her community to enjoy her content and not feel judged, questioned or unwanted as she’s always happy to see each and every one of them.

Speaking of support that is extremely helpful. Content creation is tough on its own but it’s even tougher with health conditions. Shira_Jelly has both endometriosis and adenomyosis and together they make it challenging to stick to a streaming schedule. Even with that she strives to overcome those hurtles to bring entertaining content to her viewers.

As for her content she enjoys doing art streams as well as playing cozy games like Minecraft, Infinity Nikki, Fortnite, League of Legends and so much more. Plus she does monthly free tarot readings and interviews with other creators because it helps them reach a larger audience. She adds a creative spin to the interviews as she also draws them as the interview takes place. So if all of that sounds like fun you should really stop by her streams right here.

Want to support her content and help her reach more viewers? You should stop by her Bluesky, give her a follow and stay up to date with all of the amazing things she’s working on.
