Victoria was born a long time ago in a time where things were simple. A noble baron named Riccardo Leonardo Von-Doria had an affair with one of his maid, a fox woman named Amara. Amara believed this to be the start of a romance but Riccardo had different ambitions. He was in a marriage to a woman who could not bear children so through Amara he was given his first child. However, the child, Victoria, bore the foxlike features of her mother at the disgust of her father. Riccardo hid those features from the world but he and his wife Vivianna were very open with their disgust for Victoria.

When Victoria turned 17, Vivianna passed through “unknown” reasons and Riccardo remarried a much younger woman. This woman was able to bear a child and it was a boy who Riccardo planned to inherit his name and fortune. With the birth of his new son Riccardo had no need for Victoria so he quickly tried to marry her off as a means to get rid of her. However, Victoria turned all of the would be suitors down, wanting a powerful man who would help her in her ambition to earn her father’s acknowledgment. As a result Riccardo labeled her a false heir and disowned her. Leaving her to survive in the streets.

Victoria abandoned her given name and became Lace. She decided she would leave her previous life behind and forge a new one with her own hands. She found work as a bar maid at The Fox n’ Cog and found a new home in this environment. That was till she met a silver tongued man named Ash. She fell hard for him but he vanished without a trace as he had no intentions of staying with her. Left with a broken heart she felt all the pain and hatred build within her.

The pain was so great she turned to a story she heard when she was young of the doll marker. A person who could use Alchemy to store the powerful emotions of people. Lace turned to her to end her pain. She agreed but to do so there would be a price to pay. Along with her pain Lace lost the ability to feel any kind of touch. She continued life living in a void as she then vowed to create a home for the broken and abused so that people who endured trauma like her had a safe place to call home.
