This journey to find and highlight various Vtubers is one that will continue week after week. As I strive to shine a spotlight on all kinds of creators today we turn our attentions to a pond. Within a previously unexplored realm we find a new content creator to highlight as we turn our attention to the froggie vtuber Retro Froggie.
Retro Froggie’s story has a beginning you would not expect. Starting life off as an ambiguous sharkboy he lived his life until a vicious storm changed everything. The incredible wrath of the weather forced him from the oceans, up a river and trapped him in a large pond. Finding himself unable to return to the waters he called home he decided to adapt to his new environment. As time progressed he found he was starting to exhibit frog like traits and grew a taste for flies.
His new life was peaceful but once again change was coming. Through the various whims of the currents a functional Nintendo DS found its way to the pond. Gazing upon the two screens he saw the same frogs that he spent his new life with and even his own face. He made a shocking revelation that he was somehow inside this game and the river was a mysterious connection between his old and new life. While shocking, he was at peace with this. He chose to make the most of it as a content creator to showcase the new world he found himself in to both universes and creating a bridge between the two.
Like in the name Retro Froggie suggests, his content is a blast from the past. His content includes various tutorials, retrospectives and reviews of older games. You can find him showcasing gameplay videos of some of his favorites and even sharing what older games are still playable today. With that said he also does content from modern games. He plans to play some cozy and simulation games and has been working with Tailside to promote their new game Cozy Cafe Sim and doing a review of a recently released demo for Inzoi.
If you want to check out his content he has two incredible Youtube channels to check out. You can find his main channel here but if you’re in the mood for longer form content he does his long plays on his second channel. These long plays are designed to preserve games that you don’t see many other creators playing so they don’t get lost to time. He’s also planning a return to Twitch in February so if you want to be there when that happens give his channel a follow. He also does graphic design work on the side for various Twitch and Youtuber graphics. So if you’re in need of a new graphic or just want to provide some support you can find more on his Ko-fi.
