It’s at this point I’m beginning to realize people enjoy these spotlights because I’ve gotten a number of requests to do them all in rapid fire succession. Naturally I have every intention of writing each and every one of them. In the mix of the requests is someone who is trying really hard to raise money for charity and today we’re shining the spotlight on an incredibly generous creator and the content she makes. Here we look up to the leader, the commanding, the generous Guildmaster Nerosa
Nerosa is a tiefling assassin rogue based off of the world of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition (D&D). As a tiefling Nerosa was faced with incredible racism and prejudice as it’s a common belief that tieflings are “devil-touched.” The cruelty the world showed her forced her to protect herself from a young age. She even went out in a quest for revenge against a target and while it was a messy performance it garnered the attention of an Assassin who took her under his wing.
Starting at 10 years old she was trained in mastering the ways of the shadows and gifted her a set of well crafted blades. When she was 17 her mentor died during an assignment leaving nobody to help temper her need for violence. Without that restraint she pursued her love for all things sharp and stabby and satisfied her bloodlust time and time again earning reputation as one of the most sadistic, bloodthirsty assassins to date. In her blood stained path she slaughtered her way to the very top as a Guildmaster. Her guild is full of some of the toughest warriors imaginable who hurl insults and even draw their weapons on each other from time to time.
Nerosa’s content includes games like V Rising, Cult of the Lamb and most recently Grim Dawn. She also has an original D&D campaign staring her and several of her content creating friends that’s starting on December 1st and will run Saturdays and Sundays all throughout December starting 6pm eastern time. Outside of the campaign you can also find her journeying on an epic quest in Baldur’s Gate 3.
This campaign is to raise money for 826 National. This is an after-school creative writing/reading tutoring program that has nine chapters in major cities that helps kids all across the United States. It’s the largest youth writing network in the country serving over 700,000 kids ages 4-18. Over 5,000 of these students’ works have actually been published in over 1,000 collected works that are sold in the storefronts of each of the nine chapter locations. As a creator that primarily expresses through writing I have a deep understanding of the value a program like this has to young minds in need of developing these skills so I was more than happy to write about this and spread awareness to it. My ability to express myself, to articulate my thoughts and feelings not only in my creative but also my professional and personal lives is something I cannot value enough.
To really express the importance of this cause I’ll have a rare moment where I get a bit personal. When I was younger I was always gifted academically but my ability to express myself through my speech or writing was never really nurtured. I was actually starting off worse than my peers in my speech and needed tutoring to catch up. I was taught how to speak and write but never how to express. My talents in speech that led me to place top 10 in a national speech and debate tournament and my talent to write the content you see on my site were primarily self taught. That is not a path I wish on anyone as it was a long and sometimes lonely journey. Seeing an organization that helps others to do the things I can do but at a younger age and with much more nurturing and guidance is a cause I can absolutely get behind.
Nerosa’s party also offers some incredible campaign perks. If you donate $50 you can send them an NPC for the party to meet. Donate $100 and you can send a monster to fight. Within reason of course, after all we want the party to keep fighting so we can keep raising money for a good cause. If you want to find out more and even make your own donations you can find all of the information you need here.
So here we have a creator that’s an assassin, a leader and a kind soul using their content for a good cause. If you want to tune into the streams you can find them here on her Twitch channel.
