So 2024 is off to an unusual start with the conventions that I attended as I find myself at my first ever chocolate con. Now as someone who is in the middle of a weight loss journey this probably wasn’t my smartest decision but where it was close to home and there was another event going on in Knoxville that day I decided why not since things have gone well and I can afford to splurge for a day.

Now because this is a different kind of event the review is going to be shorter as it was pretty much just vendors. However, these vendors had a wide variety of stuff for sale. Of course you had all kinds of chocolate, cake, fudge, chocolate covered bacon and even chocolate covered onigiri; however, there was also all kinds of jam and salsa plus clothes and jewelry. Having a love for chocolate is definitely a requirement to get the core enjoyment from what these vendors have to sale but really if you’re a foodie of any kind there’s a lot here for you and at $13 to get in it’s not a bad deal to walk around and find stuff to buy. I even found a booth for the soda company Wild Bill which honestly surprised me. I’ve tried a few of the items as free samples and just snacking on stuff after I left and I was very happy with the food it was all very tasty. I also really liked how while there were a lot of vendors the space was used well and I was able to walk around effortlessly to shop.

Now there’s also a VIP pass which we didn’t get for $27 where you get to do a tasting element but where this was a last minute plan we decided not to go that route. We are thinking about doing this again next year though and getting the VIP pass just for the added experience. 

Overall I’ll make this review short and sweet. It was a fun experience to go around and shop as it was like one big candy store and even someone who isn’t as keen on sweets as my wife was able to find a lot of items that looked so good or so unique that I really wanted to try them. This really makes for a fun event for locals and people in nearby areas to come out and spend a day having fun.
