I need to do these more often but I often get so caught up in conventions and anime I get really focused on them and forget. However, recently I got to meet a fantastic artist while attending Anime Impulse OC and found art so amazing I made a plan to meet this person and buy it prior to attending and that artist is Luna Chai.
So naturally an artist that creates Fire Emblem content is high on my list as it’s my favorite series and it turns out Luna Chai and I clearly like a lot of the same characters as they have this gorgeous Dimitri print for sale that I fell in love with on sight. I actually bought one a couple weeks ago and I just need to plan time to hang it up on my wall of art.
However, while Luna Chai has amazing Fire Emblem art and great taste in characters they also have art from other franchises like Genshin Impact and Violet Evergarden. I honestly debated getting the Violet print for my wife but at the time she was wanting to increase her Spy X Family collection.
The way Luna Chai does their art the colors really are eye popping and I think that was how I was able to notice it right away amongst the myriad of posts online. Plus it helps that so much of their work consists of a lot of blue, my personal favorite color. Really I found each and every piece to have incredible quality and attention to detail.
Now because art is subjective it’s hard to really explain quality in clear details especially when I am not an artist myself. However, what I can tell you is I know what I like and when I can look at something and feel an immediate want for a piece of art then it’s of course a winner in my opinion.
Now sadly a business as an art creator is a very competitive and difficult field so Luna Chai has officially stopped being a vendor at conventions. As a content creator I understand how juggling a job, conventions and content creating is difficult and I’m sure the time taken as an artist far exceeds the time I take as a writer on this site. So I can absolutely respect the decision to take a step back to peruse a job for stable income. I am so thankful for being able to go to their booth in person and buy their amazing merch I wanted to write this as a token of appreciation for the hard work they do to create such amazing art.
However, if you want to continue supporting their work they are pursuing another passion of writing their own novel called Airlean Tales which you can find details about here. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but when the convention season calms down I am going to give it a read and who knows maybe even make it my first book review on here, but without a doubt they have my full support.
