Vendor Spotlight: Party Hero Games

Now this is a vendor that I stumbled upon while I was at The Hero Con awhile back and my wife and I purchased a print and one of their board games. Party Hero Games, as the name suggests, primarily develops various games that are perfect for any get-together with some friends, and at their booth they even had some art for sale.

Now I personally didn’t do much shopping for their prints as I tend to focus primarily on the franchises that are the most important to me. So I kind of overlooked this myself as I love shows like Avatar the Airbender but I also don’t actively collect merch for it. However, my wife absolutely fell in love with the Appa print seen above as soon as she saw it and it’s currently hanging on our living room wall. The art itself is really nice and I think it makes for a wonderful piece to have.

Now their games are a much more interesting story. So I’ve only played one of their games so far but it immediately made a wonderful impression. Swipe Right takes the adult humor you see in games like Cards Against Humanity and puts an interesting twist on it. In this game, one player flips over a card that represents a Tinder profile picture, based on the popular dating website, and these pictures are not tame like the ones you see on Facebook but instead very suggestive to just outright random. Each one of these cards made someone in my group burst out laughing and that’s before we get to actually playing the game. The other players must then play one of the cards in their hand which represent the descriptions for the profiles and they are equally suggestive and random so the perfect combination of profile to description could lead to insain times. If you go on my Instagram page you’ll actually find some examples of where I post reactions to the various cards in the game as it consistently manages to leave my friends in hysterics. Now as you see in the photo this is not a child friendly game at all and I do suggest not having kids around for this as it curses talks about adult activities and all sorts of language kids really shouldn’t be hearing.

So what was a random vendor at a convention very quickly turned into one of the best purchases I’ve ever made at a convention as this is always a game that finds it’s way to a party that I’m either hosting or attending.
