This is a fun story that goes back all the way to Dragoncon 2016. This was actually the first huge convention that my wife and I went to together and at the time we were just dating and actually got engaged later that same year. One of the people my wife really wanted to see was Cristy Carlson Romano for her work on a movie my wife was a fan of. Now a key thing to note is that Cristy’s table was right beside Will Friedle’s, perfect for those fans of Kim Possible.

After my wife gets Cristy’s autograph they pose in order to take a photo and I’m behind the camera. This is my first event with a bulky camera so my skills with the device were not nearly as great as they are now, which I’m still working on improving. I’m about to take the picture and Will Friedle jumps from his table to behind Cristy and my wife and they have no idea. Now I’m resisting the urge to laugh but it was not easy so I realized I have two choices. I can either focus on trying to maintain a poker face or I can focus on keeping my hands still. I wanted to take a good picture so I focused on my hands with a goofy grin on my face and took the photo.

Now my wife realizes something happened and starts looking around to see what got me grinning and there’s Will with his arms spread wide and just having an awesome time. We all had a laugh and this short interaction really helped to get my wife passionate about the events that we go to even to this day.
